Hida-unique outdoor museum of Japan.

Hida folk village is a Museum, exhibiting some 30 homes and farmhouse of Japan village landscape, picturesque, located on a hill overlooking the Valley of Takayama and surrounding a large pond

Around the Hill are the sacred places of worship, both Buddhism and Shinto religion.

 

The village is a collection of houses, farming, the traditional architectural style of Japan from many different villages and surrounding areas. The village's main attractions are the houses "gassho-zukuri" traditional ramps like 2 hands are pieced together in prayer.

The houses, traditional farms in this village there are from 100-500 years. All the houses are preserved carefully and open the door to welcome visitors daily. The village was built for the purpose of introduction for tourists as well as the Japanese people conscious about the preservation of the historical and cultural values, traditions of Japan.

And Interior layouts in the very unique and appealing. All items in the home that is stored, displayed and viewers can discover the daily lives of the Japanese people, through the daily dishes, glasses collection from the 16th century, Tifany lamps, roofs of straw, the altar of the family. Many houses exhibiting the artifacts of that era, such as through the tool and only silk, clothing, cooking utensils

 

Each House is preserving originality, including objects related to the life and labor of the house owner. Visitors can wander from House to House to drop the effort to explore. Another charm of the village is the Hida Minzoku-kan, including a group home has special architecture was erected here in 1958. Some homes are available as factory described how the famous handicrafts of Japan such as wood carving, basket, hats, Sandals made of straw, map dyeing, weaving and lacquer.

The hearth of the House was burned up in the morning to give you warm, lively and beautiful eyes. All take you on many aspects of rural life in the tradition of the Japanese people during the era was over. You can buy small souvenirs such as handicrafts, ceramics and enjoy the Japanese cuisine at the traditional restaurant. The village is a typical demonstration of the preservation and retention of the traditional values.
